English as a Second Language Teacher, Geoje, South Korea, 2021
The afterschool academy at which I taught used a movement-based curriculum for the younger students. I was struck by how often I was able to transcend language barriers with the people (children and adults alike) I encountered in my day-to-day life through the use of communication like body language and miming. In addition to planning movement for lessons and working daily in the classroom, I helped plan seasonal festivals, which involved choreography as well!
Senior Project + UWSP College of Letters and Sciences Research Symposium, 2017
Root Cycle was a semester-long multimedia senior project involving choreography, spoken word poetry, and film, which I was also invited to present at the university’s annual research symposium.
UW System Faculty College presenter, UW-Richland Center, 2015
I presented choreography and research titled “Making It Personal To Make It Real: Successful Collaborations Allow Students to Dig Deeply” at the 2015 UW System Faculty College, an annual retreat for University of Wisconsin staff and faculty.
